This group pulls out all the stops for their peers and in particular

the grade 9 students. Recognizing the importance of a positive

school climate, inclusiveness and safety, these students work

hard with staff, fellow students, parents and community partners

including annual open-house tours provided by student leaders

in five languages. W.A.V.E. is very excited about this group

initiatives and in making Thornhill SS a great place to work,

learn and play.

Congratulations, Thornhill!

Congratulations to our elementary school winners, the St. Louis

Student Council. These students and their peers put a lot of time

and effort in keeping their school safe. In addition to pep

rallies, P.A.L.S., an Anti-Bullying Committee, Random Acts of

Kindness Tree, these students and their teachers lead Anti-

Bullying quadrant skits which became so meaningful, each

class performed for the school and parents. St. Louis is

proud of students expressing themselves without fear, being

respectful of one another and standing up for others. Keep

up the great work!

This humble, hardworking young man exemplifies what W.A.V.E. stands for.

Exposed to violence from a young age, Danny has developed an educational

violence prevention program in the gun proliferated Lawrence Heights

Community. Surrounded by poverty and violence, Danny realized the

appreciation for education and a safer, more respected life thru his involvement

and volunteer work in the Young Boys in Charge group. A resilient student

W.A.V.E. is very proud of your empowering choices Danny!
